We need responsible leaders
Monday May 14, 2007
As a concerned citizen of the Republic of Zambia, allow me to express just how injurious it was to listen to former president Chiluba address the press with all pomposity and arrogance in spite of what he very well knows he has done to this nation.
FTJ is a pathological liar and a character with no sense of shame. Chiluba looted our national coffers and deprived majority of our citizens of an opportunity to move a step further in life. It is indeed a shame that this man cannot express any remorse for all the wrongs he committed that do not need one to be a lawyer to confirm.
I thought that since his press briefing coincided with Pastor Nevers Mumba’s advice to him to face the Zambian people and ask for their forgiveness, his approach would have been one of repentance, reflection and reconciliatory. Alas, FTJ as usual was all over with his pomp and arrogance. What a shame!
The crisis faced by the nation in terms of leadership is written all over the walls. Zambia needs a change in leadership and only that will guarantee our people the much-desired institutions that will give rise to good governance. The country cannot expect to get anywhere when rogues are so determined to champion good causes as the case in Zambia over the constitution-making process.
These are bandits who have the capacity to denounce each other in the media and still dine together in the evening. Such hypocrisy must never be allowed to take centre-stage in the development processes in this country. How do you have a situation where one rogue denounces the other and the denounced tinpot dictator re-affirms that the denouncer is his bedfellow and an inseparable colleague.
These open sewers must be put to a stop and only responsible leadership will restore the dignity and respect to Zambian politics. You need responsible leadership to build on what President Levy Mwanawasa has started. I still believe that what is responsible for Zambia's underdevelopment is mediocre leadership and this must be put to a stop.
The majority of our people have resigned themselves into their dark corners as they cannot see any hope for them and their children in this country.
The morale levels among our workers are so low and this is all man-made! It must be corrected and only by a passionate leadership that can easily appeal to the masses of our people that things can get better and will get better!
This cannot be reduced to cheap politicking as evidenced by some of our prominent politicians in this country.
I wish therefore to make a humble appeal to Zambian to consider voting for the young man who is already rich and is not looking for riches from the position of President, A young man who has the qualifications necessary to comabt the problems that mother Zambia is currently facing and that is economic problems. HH is the man for any serious Zambia willing to see Zambia move forward to vote for. Look at him so carefully and you will see a lot of maturity in the young man. The young man has the love of the country at heart, he does not just criticise anything for the sake of it, but will analyse issues before making a statement. Zambian please consider my advise before you can bring in a brother to the thief who together with his brother stole billions from Zambian leaving a lot of Zambian without jobs and many dead!!! Do we honestly want to have a similar situation! No! No! I say no to government of thieves for thieves by thieves as the post once put it!!!!
May God bless Zambia!
