Of cause it exists also in Zambia, but it is not socially accepted, so homosexuals are not open about their sexuality. I do not see why Zambians should be different from the rest of the world. The ratio homosexuals/heterosexuals is probably the same in Zambia as in the rest of the world. However, I do think that many homosexuals in Zambia have not even admitted their sexual orientation to themselves because it is a taboo.

It would be fun to see a "Gay Pride" parade, as known from San Fransisco, NY, London, Paris, etc., passing down Cairo Road ) . Can you imagine these scenes in Lusaka?

i don't know wether am assuming or not, what i can say is that most of the gay people are doing it for money. There are a lot of Gay People in Zambia but most of them just want quick money and live large, the unemployment factor even makes it worse. If you really take a close look at some of these relationships you will find that majority have gay partners who are not really Zambians. I know ku nkala pa zed nikulimba, but honestly if there are people out there doing it for quick money, i can thats really digrading yourselves.

I hope i will have a better understanding of the homosexuality business, coz it just freaks me out, honestly why???

Akeelah, there is a difference between male prostitutes who sleep with other men for money, and those who are simply attracted to their own gender. I think you need to realise that there are Zambian men who prefer men, and Zambian women who prefer women.

Just for the record, I am NOT gay. Personally the thought of having sex with another man is VERY unattractive to me, and I NEVER going to try it out either. However, I do think that people are free, and everybody should have the freedom to live their sexuality without being outcasts in society ... as long as they do not impose their sexual preferences upon others.

Yes I am sure. Besides I love women too much, and I cannot understand why some people would prefer something else.
Nevertheless, I do not believe homosexuality is going to disappear just because we criminalise it.
It is estimated that there are five hundred thousand homosexuals in Zambia, which is around 4-5% of the population. We live in a democracy, and I do not see why we should deny these fellow Zambians. It is only half a century ago that people were discriminated against in this country because of our skin colour. We all agree that was wrong. Then why is it that so many think that it is OK to discriminate against Zambians with a particular sexual preference?

I am realy not sure what to think of homosexuality, I can't help but sometimes feel that it's the 'in thing' so to speak. Sometimes people clam to be homosexuals because they are seeking attention, othesr turn to it in order to be unique. Personaly I think it's not right to put it mildly. Zambia is a Christian nation and that being said we need to follow the teachings of the Bible, and the Bible clearly says 'no man should have sexual intercose with another man, for I the Lord hate this' but that doesn't mean we must treat homosexuals as 'sub-human' and coner them in dark coners and beat them to death! No no no, God hates the sin and not the person and neither should we...
