Thread: Katumbi Issue

  1. Default Katumbi Issue

i must admit that the New Deal Govt's descision to discontinue pursuing Moses Katumbi under its corruption campaign is unfounded.

Maybe its just in our blood as Zambians to be paying the expenses for others to the extent where even our leaders would discontinue to pursue a case against the public's will. what diplomatic interest is our governement protecting with Congo DR if one their Governors fraudulently got money without supplying the goods tendered for?

i am tempted to conclude that now even VJ was right on the side of govt when he said that Katumbi owed the people of Zambia nothing because what the government has finally decided to do acquits VJ. As a nation we must desist from paying the price in the name protecting diplomatic relations with other countries.

immediately when FTJ announced in his press conference that the !st Republican President's son, Panji, also benefited from the Zamtrop account; the task force was swift to announce and institute investigations against Panji. Why should a Zambian be investigated if foreigners can be just like exonerated that. Maybe some animals are more equal than others. Maybe this whole campaign against corruption is mere fallacy.Maybe someone wants to divert our minds to corruption and leave the rest to them.

..Well,we can still see the fruits of the stamping down on corruption but you're right this campaign is showing a little bit of double standards on the part of government,we understand that it's is highly sensitive a matter,we saw what happened when Katumbi ''put spanners' in the copper issue,to me it looks like he's backed by major people in Congo so if the Zambian government had continued hainging on to his cash and emeralds,we would have suffered a little bit,the current Information Minister of Zambia,Mulongoti or something sounds like an incompetent person,he did not explain the issue properly infact i have seen so many of his rantings in the paper against the opposition parties and the like, the other fella is Shakafuswa allegedly to be a relation of the President,he sounds so immature to me just by looking at the things he says as quoted in the media.

That's right, not even just the third world, corruption is everywhere neither will it take 10 years before Levy is investigated,as soon as he leaves office he's gonna be investigated infact right now some people are probably gathering a little bit of stuff they can use in future(people whose toes he has stepped on),we will see if he has covered his tracks but it's evident enough that there is nothing much they can definately nail him with as he probably doesn't give written instructions on certain issues neither does he involve himself directly with funds like Chiluba did.
