Zambian Video

Another new feature has just been introduced to Bwanji.com - the ability to share videos.

We were trying to figure out if it was worth creating a Zambian videos site. Some may recall an earlier venture, called Ndikufuna.com, where we allowed people to share pictures on Zambia. The site died within a year because of various reasons. With a video sharing site, very quickly we realized that the cost for hosting the videos and streaming the videos would be too much to bear. Furthermore, a number of older posts already had links to video sites such as Youtube.

So, the easiest implementation was to allow people to simply post a link to the video that they wanted people to watch and we would take care of displaying the video.

For example, here's a video on the Victoria Falls:

Any old posts with links to a video should automatically display the complete video preview.

Lookign good...lets just hope it doesn't get misused...i doubt anything REALLY OFFENSIVE will be found on youtube coz they do their own filtering guess we'll have to wait and see.

For REALLY OFFENSIVE content, the community can report the post. One of the biggest reasons we decided to redo Bwanji from the scratch was to allow for the community to be self-policing. We know people will abuse features - but if there's a way for this to be reported (Report Post Flag) then this becomes less of an issue.
